In this promotional poster‭, ‬the

artist has reproduced his own dark

silhouette holding a book‭. ‬The title

of the exhibition is placed over the

head‭, ‬and the body is covered with

calligraphic writing‭. ‬Inspired by old

Islamic and Persian manuscripts‭,‬

Abedini uses the so-called Siah

Mashq style‭ (‬black practice‭), ‬in

which a calligrapher writes words

and sentences several times in

different shapes and sizes‭. ‬The fine

result combines handwritten letters

floating in space that make the

figure look plastic‭.‬
