Majid Abbasi (born 1965)
An Exhibition of the Photographs
(original prints) of Sadeq Hedayat,
Seyhoon Gallery
Tehran, October 20–25, 2001
Offset, 69x48 cm
Hedayat (1903–1951) was an Iranian writer, translator and intellectual, and one of the earliest Iranian writers to adopt literary modernism in their work. At the end of 1950, Hedayat left Iran for Paris. There he committed suicide by gassing himself in a small rented apartment. He is buried at the Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris.
The exhibition at Seyhoon Gallery
was the first event organized in
Tehran on the occasion of the
centenary of Sadeq Hedayat's
birth, and it attracted much public
attention. The poster became very
popular. Majid Abbasi has used the
poster as the "nick image" on his
Facebook profile.
