The poster relates to the Iranian
city Bamâ€, ‬formerly known as The
Emerald of the Desertâ€, ‬a cultural
jewel and UNESCO World Heritage
Site that was devastated on
December 26â€, ‬2003†‬by a massive
earthquakeâ€. ‬The historic city of
Bam was one of the most popular
tourist spots in Iranâ€, ‬best known
for its 2,000-year-old citadelâ€,‬
built out of mud bricksâ€, ‬clay strawâ€,‬
and the trunks of palm treesâ€, ‬the
largest structure of its kind in the
worldâ€. ‬Unfortunatelyâ€, ‬more than 80
percent of the historic citadel has
been destroyedâ€. ‬It appears that
much of that heritage may have
been lost foreverâ€.‬
